Neil Casey

Neil began playing Trombone at the age of 11 and was soon a prominent member of West Glamorgan Youth Music, participating in just about anything that required a Trombone! Neil then studied music at Birmingham University and later completed an MA in Composition.

He subsequently commenced his music career after first passing a torturous audition with Nick which involved the lead part of Skyliner! Neil has since worked with Nick on a number of projects including cruise contracts with P&O, both as a trombonist and arranger. His playing schedule revolves around orchestral, theatrical, brass ensemble and big band work. However, Neil is now also in demand as both a conductor and composer. Conducting engagements this season include the South Bank Symphony and the Note-orious Ensemble. Composition achievements to date include a Royal Commission that was performed in March 2003 at Westminster Abbey and was broadcast by the BBC World Service. Further work includes pieces for theatre and several dance collaborations. Neil is also the co-owner of the successful London-based music and audio production company, Note-orious Productions Ltd, where he specialises in arranging and contemporary music editing & typesetting.
