Born in Sheffield in 1977, Lee took up the trombone at the age of 14 and within the space of a year or so was playing with various local outfits, with the local youth symphony orchestra and “City of Sheffield youth brass band”.
In mid 1993, at the tender age of 16, he was offered his first professional “gig” on third trombone with “The Memphis Belle Swing Orchestra”. He passed this unofficial audition and went on to play as a regular member of the band on their first U.K. tour.
In early 1998 Lee joined “The New Squadronaires” as their lead/solo trombonist on theatre dates all over the UK. He has also performed in their smaller jazz outfit “The Squadcats”. Lee went on to work onboard QEII and as lead trombone & soloist with the “John Miller Orchestra”. Lee has also appeared with well know names such as Georgie Fame, Diane Schuur, Joe Longthorne and Dennis Lotis.
